Crane Flat Junction

Crane Flat is the junction where California highway 120 splits into the road to the high country of the Sierras and the Big Oak Flat road down into Yosemite Valley. Crane Flat is important as it is one of only two places where you can fuel your vehicle in Yosemite Park.

The Crane Flat gas station also has a nice store with basic food and supplies you might need during your trip to the high country.

In the winter Crane Flat is the location of the Park’s only official “snow play area” where your children, or the child in you, can throw snowballs to your heart’s content or practice sledding.

Crane Flat is the starting point for a number of popular cross-country ski trails. You can get a map at the store. They also rent snowshoes and sell sleds.
